Special Situations

Effective date: June 22, 2026

This page explains how Up n Around may handle edge cases that do not fit neatly into ordinary product use. It works with our Terms, Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, Privacy Choices, Copyright Policy, Data Retention and Deletion page, Law Enforcement Guidelines, Security Disclosure Policy, and Teen Safety and Parent Guide.

Account compromise or unauthorized access

If you believe someone accessed your account without permission, contact support@upnaround.app promptly. We may require verification, reset credentials, revoke sessions, limit features, preserve logs, or take other steps to protect the account and service. We may not be able to undo all actions taken before we were notified.

Lost devices, changed numbers, and reassigned phone numbers

If you lose a device, change numbers, or your phone number is reassigned by a carrier, you may lose access to verification or account recovery. We may require additional verification before changing account access. If a phone number appears to belong to a different person, we may restrict or disable access to protect users.

Inactive, abandoned, duplicate, or disputed accounts

We may restrict, remove, merge, or decline to restore inactive, abandoned, duplicate, fraudulent, or disputed accounts where appropriate. We may require proof of control or identity before making account changes, and we may refuse requests that create safety, privacy, fraud, or legal risk.

Non-users, contacts, and invitations

If users upload contacts or send invitations, information about people who are not yet users may appear in contact-matching or invitation workflows. We may limit, delete, de-identify, or stop using non-user contact information where appropriate or legally required. Invitation recipients can contact support with questions about invitations or phone-number use.

Deleted users, removed content, and residual copies

Deleting an account or removing content may not immediately remove every copy from backups, logs, recipients' devices, notifications, cached previews, moderation records, legal holds, or third-party systems outside our control. We may keep limited records where needed for safety, security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or enforcement.

Deceased or incapacitated users

If we receive a request about a deceased or incapacitated user, we may ask for documentation and may limit what we can disclose. We may preserve, delete, memorialize, restrict, or decline to change an account depending on law, privacy, safety, and the user's settings. We generally will not provide private message contents without valid legal process or another lawful basis.

Off-platform sharing, screenshots, and copies

Up n Around can remove or limit content inside the service, but we cannot control screenshots, recordings, exports, copied text, saved images, or information shared outside the service by other users. Share availability, plans, location, photos, and messages only with people you trust.

Location, availability, and notification accuracy

Location, availability, maps, timestamps, push notifications, delivery status, and nearby context may be delayed, inaccurate, unavailable, stale, or affected by device settings, network conditions, operating systems, permissions, battery settings, or third-party services. Do not rely on Up n Around for emergency response, physical safety decisions, precise tracking, or time-critical coordination.

Plans, venues, transportation, and offline interactions

Users are responsible for their own plans, decisions, transportation, venues, costs, personal safety, and compliance with rules or laws. Up n Around does not control whether people show up, whether a venue is safe or open, whether transportation is available, or whether an offline interaction goes well.

Emergencies, self-harm, and immediate danger

Up n Around support is not a crisis line or emergency service. If you or someone else may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. If we become aware of credible imminent harm, child exploitation, or serious safety risk, we may preserve information, disclose limited information, contact law enforcement, or take other safety action where appropriate.

Child safety and exploitation

Content or behavior involving child sexual exploitation, grooming, sexual extortion, abuse, trafficking, or endangerment is prohibited. We may remove content, disable accounts, preserve information, and report apparent child exploitation to appropriate authorities or organizations such as NCMEC where required or appropriate.

Mistaken reports, moderation errors, and appeals

Reports and moderation decisions can involve incomplete information. We may make mistakes, decline action, reverse action, or take additional action after review. Where available, users may appeal or contact support, but we may limit details to protect privacy, safety, security, legal obligations, or abuse-prevention methods.

Security incidents

If we identify a security incident affecting personal information, we may investigate, contain, remediate, preserve evidence, engage service providers, notify users, regulators, or law enforcement where required, and take steps intended to reduce harm. Timing and content of notices may depend on the facts, law, security needs, and law-enforcement considerations.

Payments, chargebacks, and entitlement errors

If paid features are offered later, purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds, chargebacks, and entitlements may be handled by app stores or payment processors. We may suspend paid entitlements for suspected fraud, abuse, chargebacks, payment failure, refund abuse, or app-store/payment-provider instructions.

Technical failures and data loss

The service may experience bugs, outages, failed uploads, duplicate messages, delayed notifications, data sync issues, or data loss. We try to operate responsibly, but we do not guarantee that every message, plan, notification, upload, or setting will be available, delivered, recoverable, or error-free.

Feature availability, international use, and legal conflicts

Some features may be limited, delayed, unavailable, or changed based on device type, app-store rules, geography, language, age, safety concerns, legal requirements, sanctions, carrier restrictions, or vendor availability. If laws, platform rules, court orders, or safety needs conflict, we may take the action we reasonably believe is required or appropriate.

Conflicts and discretion

Edge cases depend heavily on facts. We may interpret and apply our policies using reasonable discretion, including by considering safety, privacy, legal obligations, user expectations, product limits, and abuse risk. If this page conflicts with our Terms, the Terms control to the extent of the conflict.
