Law Enforcement Guidelines

Effective date: June 22, 2026

These guidelines explain how authorized law enforcement or government officials may contact Up n Around about legal process, emergency safety requests, or preservation requests. These guidelines do not create rights for third parties and may be updated at any time.

Not an emergency service

Up n Around support is not an emergency response service. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.

Where to send requests

Law enforcement and government requests may be sent to support@upnaround.app with the subject line "Law Enforcement Request" or "Emergency Request." Requests should come from an official government email address when possible.

Required information

Requests should include the requesting agency, official contact information, legal authority, specific account or content identifiers, requested date range, requested records, and any non-disclosure requirement. Emergency requests should explain the threat, the information needed, and why disclosure is necessary to prevent imminent harm.

Legal process

We review requests for facial validity, specificity, jurisdiction, and consistency with applicable law. We may reject, narrow, or ask for clarification about requests that are overbroad, vague, informal, invalid, or not properly served. We may require different legal process for different categories of information.

Emergency requests

We may voluntarily disclose limited information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to prevent imminent death, serious physical injury, child sexual exploitation, or another urgent safety threat. Emergency requests should be narrowly tailored.

Preservation requests

Law enforcement may request preservation of account information while seeking legal process. Preservation requests should identify the account or content to preserve and the relevant timeframe. Preserved data may not be disclosed without valid legal process or another lawful basis.

User notice

Unless prohibited by law, court order, or a valid non-disclosure requirement, we may notify users about legal requests for their information. We may delay or withhold notice if we believe notice could create risk of harm, fraud, abuse, evidence destruction, or legal violation.

Scope of available information

Information available may depend on product design, user settings, retention periods, deletion, backups, and technical limits. We cannot provide information we do not have or cannot reasonably access. See our Data Retention and Deletion page for general retention principles and Special Situations for edge-case limits.

Child safety and exploitation

Content or activity involving child sexual exploitation, abuse, or endangerment is prohibited. We may report apparent child sexual exploitation to appropriate authorities or organizations, preserve information, disable accounts, and cooperate with lawful investigations.

Costs and international requests

Where permitted by law, we may seek reimbursement for costs associated with responding to legal process. Requests from outside the United States may need to proceed through appropriate legal channels, and we may require English translation.
