Privacy Choices

This page summarizes privacy choices and gives a notice-at-collection style overview for Up n Around. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
Notice at collection
We collect personal information to provide a social coordination app where users can find friends, share availability, float plans, message, receive notifications, and manage safety controls. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Categories we may collect
- Identifiers: name, phone number, email address, account identifiers, device identifiers, IP address, and push notification tokens.
- Account and profile information: username, display name, profile photo, settings, verification status, and account preferences.
- Contacts information: contact names, phone numbers, and matching data when you grant contact access.
- Location information: approximate or precise location if you grant permission, plus availability windows and nearby context you choose to share.
- Internet or app activity: screens viewed, features used, timestamps, log data, crash reports, and diagnostic information.
- User content and communications: availability updates, plan broadcasts, messages, reactions, groups, media, reports, and support communications.
- Audio, visual, or similar information: photos, profile images, or media you upload or choose to share.
- Payment and transaction information: if paid features are offered, purchase status, receipts, subscription status, transaction identifiers, refunds, taxes, entitlements, and related support data.
- Sensitive personal information: precise location, account credentials, message contents, or other sensitive information only when needed to provide, secure, or moderate the service.
- Inferences: limited product inferences, such as friend matching, audience relevance, safety signals, or usage patterns used to operate and improve the service.
Purposes for collection and use
- Provide accounts, authentication, phone verification, and security.
- Help users find friends, choose audiences, share availability, create plans, message, and receive notifications.
- Operate contact matching, invitations, location-based relevance, and app features users request.
- Moderate content, review reports, prevent spam, detect fraud, enforce rules, and protect safety.
- Process purchases, subscriptions, rewards, referrals, contests, or promotional features if offered.
- Debug, maintain, analyze, and improve performance, reliability, and user experience.
- Comply with law, legal process, and enforceable requests.
- Send launch updates or support communications when you ask for them.
Retention
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above and in our Privacy Policy. Some content may expire or be deleted sooner based on product design or user action. We may retain certain information longer for safety, security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, backups, or enforcement. Your privacy controls
- Change contacts, location, photos, camera, microphone, and notification permissions in your device settings.
- Choose the audience for availability, plans, location context, and content before sharing.
- Delete posts, remove contacts, block users, report content or users, and request account deletion where available.
- Reply STOP to supported SMS verification messages to opt out of SMS, or reply HELP for help.
- Contact us to request access, deletion, correction, portability, or other privacy rights where applicable.
State privacy requests
Depending on your location and whether a specific law applies to us, you may request to know or access information, delete information, correct inaccurate information, receive a portable copy, opt out of sale or targeted advertising, limit certain uses of sensitive information, appeal a decision, or avoid discrimination for exercising privacy rights.
To submit a privacy request, email support@upnaround.app with the subject line "Privacy Request." Include the account phone number or email, the right you want to exercise, and enough information for us to verify and process the request. Do not send unnecessary sensitive information.
Authorized agents
Where required by law, you may use an authorized agent to make a request. We may require proof of authorization, verification of your identity, and direct confirmation that you authorized the request.
Appeals
If we deny a privacy request and applicable law gives you a right to appeal, reply to our decision or email support@upnaround.app with the subject line "Privacy Appeal" and explain why you believe the decision should be reconsidered.
Do not sell or share
We do not sell personal information and do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Because of that, we do not currently provide a separate sale/share opt-out toggle. If our practices change, we will update this page and provide any required controls.
Limit sensitive personal information
We use sensitive personal information only for purposes reasonably expected by users, such as providing location features, securing accounts, preventing abuse, and operating the service. If that changes, we will update this page and provide any required choices.
